Version 2 custom jumpers easily convert up to three DMX lines to a single Neutrik etherCON connector.
Available in both XLR5 Male (input) and XLR5 Female (output) configurations.
Universe Configuration
The Version 2 standard can be operated in either a 2 universe or 3 universe mode:
In 2 Universe mode (using way 1&2) each line has its own discrete common and is fully compliant with the USITT/ESTA DMX over CAT5 standard.
If required, 3 Universes can be used with the common pins of Universe 2 and 3 being connected together (see diagram).
Either configuration can be used with UTP (unshielded) cable it is not reliant on using the shielding as the common.
Note: This is a ‘copper only’ solution and all CAT5 circuits must be patched directly through and not via any networking equipment as this will not work and may damage connected equipment.
